Six local fishermen held for illegal fishing
Six local fishermen who were engaging in illegal fishing in the seas off Koneshwaram, Trincomalee were arrested by the Naval personnel attached to SLN Dockyard, navy said.
During the arrest three Fiber Glass Dinghies, three pairs of diving fins, fifteen oxygen cylinders and 63 saltwater fish belonging to various species, were taken into custody also. The suspects and belongings were produced to the Harbour Police Station Trincomalee for onward investigations.
