The SLFP held their Central Committee meeting yesterday at Battaramulla's Ape Gama headed by President Maithripala Sirisena. It was decided at the meeting to appoint a Political committee or a politburo of 15 members, Gen Secretary Professor Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said.
Speaking to media SLFP General Secretary said new drafts were proposed to the additon to the party constitution at the Central Committee meeting.
Further, President Maithripala Sirisena was quoted as saying at the Central Committee meeting that they will start to reveal the illegal behaviour of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya locally and Internationally .
PM Mahinda Rajapaksa and JO parliamentary group didn't attend the meeting.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
