A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) parliamentarians have submitted a memorandum to the President requesting him to contest at the upcoming presidential polls.
The memorandum had also suggested that the President should form and lead an alliance with anti-United National Party (UNP) groups, the President's Media Division said.
Parliamentarians Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dayasiri Jayasekara, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Sarath Amunugama, Duminda Dissanayake, Mahinda Amaraweera, Faizer Mustapha, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Weerakumara Dissanayake, Dushamantha Mithrapala, Mohan Lal Grero, and Shantha Bandara had submitted the memorandum.
