The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)'s press conference scheduled for today (Oct 6) to officially declare their stance on the Presidential election has been cancelled.
The SLFP Central Committee yesterday had decided to entrust its leader President Maithripala Sirisena to make the final decision pertaining to the poll.
This decision was expected to be announced at a media conference at 11 am today.
However, General Secretary of the United Peoples Freedom Alliance of which the SLFP is a constituent party Mahinda Amaraweera said the party would announce its final stance tomorrow following a meeting this evening.
