The contempt of court case against the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) for failing to enforce the verdict given by the Court of Appeal to register SAITM students that completed their degrees, will be taken up for hearing on June 25.
The case was brought before Justices Shiran Gunaratne and Achala Vengappulli a two-member judge bench today (May 29).
Members of the SLMC and its Chairman appeared before court today.
Dilum Sooriyarachchi, a SAITM graduate had filed the case against the SLMC claiming that it had failed to abide by the Appeal Court verdict which has also been upheld by the Supreme Court, to register SAITM graduates at the SLMC.
