The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has won the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election with 23,372 votes, securing 17 seats in the local body.
Five recognised political parties fielded 155 candidates seeking to occupy the 29 seats in the Pradeshiya Sabha.
The United National Party came second at the poll by securing 07 seats with 10,113 votes while the United People's Freedom Alliance emerged third by winning 03 seats through 5273 votes.
