The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) will form an alliance and put forward a candidate capable of becoming President, SLPP national organiser Basil Rajapaksa said.
He added that the new alliance will cooperate with the new President to restructure the country while adding that he expects the cooperation of the youth in this regard.
Mr. Rajapaksa made this remark during the formation of the SLPP's youth politburo in the Mahara electorate yesterday (Jan 13).
"The SLPP which is approximately an year old has already prevented the 72-year old UNP, the 67-year old SLFP, and the 53-year old JVP from achieving victory in certain electoral districts" he quipped.
He also said that his party would win 19 districts in any given election in future.
