SLTB requests police protection after 20 buses attacked

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has requested police protection for its buses. The request has been made after at least 20 buses allegedly came under attack throughout the country since last night. 

The SLTB is operating buses as normal and have also deployed additional buses to minimize inconveniences to the public caused by an island-wide strike launched from midnight yesterday by transport sector unions, including many trade unions representing private bus operators.
