A solar power energy project will be launched in Siyambalanduwa next month to produce 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity, a Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) official said.
The CEB official added that a cabinet proposal will be put forward this week to introduce another solar power project to generate 150 MW's of electricity to the national grid.
In addition, bids would be called for a wind power project next month to generate 60 MW's of electricity.
