Soldiers who saved Dutch national to be felicitated

The army soldiers who were involved in rescue operations to save the life of a Dutch National who fell at  World’s End will be felicitated by Army Commander Lieutenant General Chrishantha de Silva  today (Feb 25), local media reported. According to reports the army personnel were from the third Sinha Regiment.

Thirty-five-year-old Mamitho Lendas was on honeymoon in Sri Lanka with his new wife.
The two were visiting World's End, Lendas wanted to take a photograph of his new wife, Linda, when he fell off the 4,000ft cliff.
Luckily a tree broke his fall about 162ft (50 metres) down the cliff face, where he was evetually rescued by the Sri Lankan army.
Attempts to rescue the Dutch National by the soldiers were also assisted by Navy personnel. __________________________________________________________ See related story
