Southern Province pays tribute to war heroes

A war heroes commemoration ceremony for the Southern Province was held on Tuesday (15) before the war heroes monument in Galle town. The event was held under the patronage of Chairperson of the Ranaviru Seva Authority, Anoma Fonseka. Southern Province Governor Marshal Perera and Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal De Silva were among the others who attended. 

The event was graced by a large number of family members of war heroes from the Southern Province who had sacrificed their lives. 

After the salute conducted for the war heroes by the tri forces and police, dignitaries and family members of war heroes laid wreaths at the base of the monument to pay their respects.
