The Speaker's Office speaking to Times Online confirmed that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya will not be attending today's party leaders meeting with the President.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya had informed his decision to the President via a telephone call earlier today.
During the phone call conversation the Speaker had told the President that he will not attend the meeting since it is a political party meeting.
The party leaders meeting is expected to take place at the Presidential Secretariat at 5 pm today (Nov 18)
