Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, who called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat this evening urged the President to convene Parliament on Monday or Tuesday.
The President, in turn, had promised to respond to this request as soon as possible. However, no specific details were given.
Meanwhile, the President during the discussion requested the Speaker to provide the necessary facilities in Parliament to Mahinda Rajapaksa as he was Prime Minister.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
