A committee has been appointed to accept complaints against former Governors M L A M Hizbullah, Azath Salley and former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said today (Jun 04).
The committee will comprise three members and would be set-up at the Police Headquarters, the Spokesman explained. He added that the public could file complaints against these individuals before the committee.
Accordingly, the committee will accept complaints that are filed against the former state officials from 8 am to 4 pm until June 12, Mr. Gunasekara noted.
Governors Hizbullah, Salley and former Minister Bathiudeen stepped down from their positions yesterday, in a move, which they said was to provide an opportunity to investigate the allegations against them.
