A special counter will be set-up at the Bandaranaike International Airport next month to allow tourists to purchase train tickets directly, state minister of railways C B Ratnayake said.
The state minister made these remarks while observing that private tour operators have been purchasing tickets in bulk quantity and selling them to foreign tourists at higher rates.
Accordingly, Ratnayake stated that tickets would not be sold in such a manner and that foreigners will be able to purchase the tickets at the airport by producing their passports.
