Sri Lanka has earned a revenue of USD 31 million through the Bohra Global Conference which is currently underway in Colombo, the President's Office said in a media statement.
The conference which began on September 1 to 10 at the Bohra Mosque in Marine Drive, Bambalapitiya is being attended by 21,000 Bohra Muslims from 40 countries including Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, President Maithripala Sirisena who attended the fourth day of the conference had called on all forces to unite irrespective of any differences to eliminate poverty and establish peace.
Mr. Sirisena remarked that it was an honour to host the Bohra Conference since they have been committed to achieving peace, the statement noted.
According to the President's Office, a similar event had been held in 2007 with the attendance of more than 7000 individuals. This year's conference is being held under the theme 'We believe in Sri Lanka'.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
