A 48-year-old businessman who arrived from Germany recently became the seventh victim to die from COVID-19 in the country today, Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated that the deceased died while being treated for the disease at National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH).
Meanwhile the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 188 with two more patients tested positive for COVID-19 today.
According to the Epidemiology unit statistics, 42 individuals have been recovered and discharged from IDH and 139 active patients are currently admitted to the special ward.
