Sri Lanka to ink four agreements with Maldives today

Sri Lanka will sign four agreements with Maldives on the sidelines of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe's visit to the South-Asian island today (Aug 2), a spokesman for the Prime Minister said.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe took wing on flight UL 101 along with a six member delegation and reached Maldives this morning.

Accordingly, an agreement on visa arrangements along with Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’s on social protection, vocational training and youth development, and Higher education would be signed between the two countries.

Mr. Wickremesinghe will chair this year's Indian Ocean Conference which will begin tomorrow, and is also expected to address the Maldivian Parliament.

Among the delegation are Ministers Rauff Hakeem, Vajira Abeywardena, and Daya Gamage, State Minister Anoma Gamage, Prime Minister's Secretary Saman Ekanayake and the Prime Minister's Advisor Sudharshana Gunawardena.
