Minister of Ports and Shipping Mahinda Samarasinghe says that Sri Lanka would welcome Indian investments in the western terminal of the Colombo Port.
However, the minister added that "India is not insisting on it".
Addressing the media, Minister Samarasinghe said that the government will not handover the Eastern terminal of the Colombo port to any entity.
He also cited a possibility of Japan joining hands with India in order to invest in the western terminal.
