Following the steping down of CJ 43 Shirani Bandaranayake from office Supreme Court Justice Kanagasabapathy J. Sripavan will be appointed as next Chief Justice, Government spokesperson Minister Rajitha Senaratne said today. CJ 43 Bandaranayake today said she was stepping down from office at a traditional ceremony at the Supreme Court premises attended by lawyers. " He has been appointed according to the seniority in the bench, not a direct appointment from the President," Minister Senaratne said.
