Digamadulla district UPFA Parliamentarian Sriyani Wijewickrama was sworn in as the State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today, Presidential Secretarat said.
Mrs. Sriyani Wijewickrama MP, who represented the Joint Opposition (JO) recently met the President to extended her support to the policies of the President.Minister Faiszer Musthapha was also present on this occasion.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
