A total of 28 unions comprising state sector employees have decided to engage in a sick-leave trade union campaign citing salary anomalies today (Sept 23).
The unions include the Sri Lanka Grama Niladhari Association, All Island Administrative Officers Union, Joint Postal Trade Union Front, Ceylon Teacher's Union and Public Management Assistant Officers Union.
Sri Lanka State Officers Union Secretary Ajith K. Thilakaratne said that the trade union action was being carried out to protest against a cabinet paper which is to be put forward to resolve these anomalies.
He claimed that the cabinet paper does not resolve the issues of all sectors.
