The second term for national and state-approved Tamil and Sinhala schools will end on August 1 (Thursday), the Ministry of Education announced today (Jul 29).
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the third term for the students of these schools will begin on September 02 (Monday).
Academic sessions for the second term of these schools began much later than the scheduled date due to the Easter Sunday terrorist bombings on April 21.
Schools were expected to re-open on April 22, but had been closed nearly a month before re-opening on May 6 and 13 for secondary and primary grades respectively.
