State sector employees will not be granted leave today and have been instructed to report to work even if they have to arrive late, Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government, Vajira Abeywardena said.
"The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Deputy Manager of transport T. Chandrasiri had informed me that there might be certain delays in SLTB buses. However, transportation will take place within the country today," the Minister told media.
Meanwhile, private buses too will operate on a normal basis, National Transport Commission Chairman Janaka Mallawarachchi said.
Further, train services will also operate across the country as usual, Railways Department Superintendent Gamini Seneviratne noted.
