A suspect identified as 'Jeewan Malli' has been arrested in Kiribathgoda with heroin worth Rs 60 million, police said.
The arrest was carried out by Special Task Force personnel while the suspect was travelling on a motorcycle.
Five kilograms of heroin were nabbed from the possession of the suspect whose real name has been identified as Jeewan Perera. He is a resident of Kelaniya.
It is believed that the suspect had maintained close links with underworld leader Sameera Rasanga alias 'Hybrid Sudda'.
Further investigations are being carried out by the STF.
