The driver of Zahran Hashim - the suicide bomber at the Shangri-La hotel has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department a short while ago.
The suspect was arrested by the Kattankudy Police yesterday (Apr 26) before he was handed over to the CID for further questioning, police said.
Police have identified the suspect as 53-year old M. Shariff Adam Lebbe alias 'Ghafoor'.
Mr. Lebbe, upon being questioned had revealed reportedly that the National Tawheed Jamath (NTJ) group was behind an attack in November last year.
He had allegedly recounted that two followers of the NTJ group had been involved in the killing of two policemen who were on duty in Vavuniya during the latter part of November last year.
