Supplementary and paramedic officers attached to hospitals in the Southern Province have launched a token strike action today (Nov 5).
The Joint Council of Professions Supplementary to Medicine and Paramedic Services said that the strike is centred around demands to introduce a special salary structure for graduates in their profession.
Joint Council Convenor Ravi Kumudesh stated that the strike would be extended across the country from 8 am tomorrow, if their demands are not addressed by the government.
