The Supreme Court deliver its judgement confirming the death sentence passed on for former Defence Ministry Monitoring MP Duminda Silva and three others which was previously passed by the Colombo High Court.
However, Anura Thushara De Mel's sentence was revoked.
Five accused including former MP Duminda Silva who were sentenced to death by Colombo High Court for committing the murder of four persons including former MP Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra had filed appeal petitions in the Supreme Court challenging the judgement of Colombo High Court.
The verdict was delivered by the trial-at-bar comprising of Chief Justice Priyasath Dep, Bhuwaneka Aluwihare, Prasanna Jayawardena, Nalin Perera and Vijith Malalgoda.
