The Supreme Court has dismissed the two motions filed by Ranil Wickramasinghe and 121 MPs who asked for a five judge bench to hear the appeal filed against the Interim Order which restricts the functioning of the Cabinet and Mahinda Rajapaksa as premiere.
The case is currently being taken up before Justices Eva Wanasundara, Buwaneka Aluvihare, and Vijith Malalgoda.
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
