An individual who received training alongside Easter Sunday attacks mastermind Mohamed Zahran has been arrested in Maharagama today (Jul 12).
Police have identified the suspect as 20-year old M.T. Ashif Ahamed, a resident of Aranayake and an employee at a garment factory.
He had been arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Division with the assistance of the Navy intelligence unit.
The suspect is believed to have received training with Zahran at a training facility in Nuwara Eliya which had been used by the bombers involved in the April 21 terrorist attacks.
Police said the suspect is currently being questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department.
