The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has decided to extend the suspension on the operations and activities of Perpetual Treasuries Ltd by six months from today (Jul 5).
According to the Central Bank, this decision had been taken since the investigations into the Central Bank bond scam were still underway.
Perpetual Treasuries Ltd and some of its senior officials including its owner have been named as suspects in a massive fraud that occured during the issuance of treasury bonds in 2015.
The services and activities of this company have been suspended since then.
