A 28-year old man has been arrested yesterday (Aug 16) for suspiciously visiting a temple in Athurugiriya and fleeing the area last week.
According to the police, the suspect had visited the temple along with a few others on August 10.
Police had launched a search operation to apprehend the suspects after a complaint had been filed by the head monk of the temple.
The suspect has been identified as a resident of Borella. He had been taken into custody by the Welikada police.
Further investigations are currently underway.
