Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam told Parliament today (Aug 20) that steps are being taken to bring Madrasa schools under the purview of the Education Ministry.
Responding to a question raised by Parliamentarian Ananda Aluthgamage, Mr. Kariyawasam said that talks are being held with the Muslim Religious and Cultural Affairs Minister in this regard.
The Education Minister added that the proposed new Education Act will impose laws to regulate international schools as well.
