The Tamil Progressive Alliance, a new alliance consisting of three Tamil parties officially launched a new alliance today with an objective of representing the Tamil people in upcountry and those who are living outside of North and Eastern provinces. Democratic People’s Front led by Mano Ganesan was elected as the leader of the alliance while National Union of Workers led by Palani Digambaran and Up-country People’s Front led by V. Radhakrishnan appointed as deputy leaders. A Memorondum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the three party leaders at Taj Samudra today afternoon. Mr Mano Ganesan said the new alliance will fight for the political rights of the upcountry people and the party has formed a 'Advisory council' to formulate its political ideologies before the general election.
