A teenager who received training with Easter Sunday attacks mastermind Mohamed Zahran has been arrested in Ampara, police said today (Aug 16).
The suspect identified as 16-year old M. Nawfer Abdulla alias 'Abu Hasam' had been taken into custody upon information received by the State Intelligence Service.
He is believed to have received training with Zahran at a training camp in Nuwara Eliya.
Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said that the suspect has been identified as the son of Naufer Moulavi - who had been arrested in connection with the extremist group alleged to have been involved in the bombings on April 21.
