Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa left the Commission to Investigate allegations of Bribery or Corruption, within half an hour after his arrival this morning. Rajapaksa didn't leave before thanking his supporters who had launched a protest outside the commission against the summons by the Commission. He was summoned to record a statement with regard to investigations regarding Avant-Garde Securities and Rakna Araksha Lanka. The protest concluded after Rajapaksa left the commission. Supporters of former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa started protesting in front of the Bribery Commission as Rajapaksa arrived at the place, despite the court order banning protests.
Bauddhaloka Mawatha has been closed due to the protest.
