The 13-year old girl who sustained injuries in a ferris wheel accident in Veyangoda yesterday has died today (Feb 05). The ferris wheel which collapsed at a park claimed the life of the girl's mother yesterday as well.
The victim who has been identified as S.D. Rashmi Araliya, a resident of Kotugoda, had succumbed to her injuries at around 08:10 am today after she was transferred from the Colombo General Hospital to the Gampaha Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the owner, the manager, the rides operator and three operational staff of the park have been arrested in connection with the incident. They will be produced before the Attanagalle Magistrates Court today.
The park has been shut down since the incident.
