Three persons were arrested with 7.86 kilogrammes of Kerala Cannabis at two separate locations in North, Navy said.Two persons were taken into custody with 04 kilogrammes of Kerala Cannabis during a search conducted in Karainagar and Sankani areas in Jaffna yesterday by naval personnel with the assistance of a team of Police Special Task Force personnel, Jaffna.
The consignment of cannabis was being transferred on a motorcycle when the arrest was made. The arrested persons along with the cannabis were handed over to the Special Task Force Jaffna Division for legal action.
Meanwhile, naval personnel attached to the North-Central Naval Command with the assistance of police personnel, Mannar, also arrested a person with 3.86 kilogrammes of Kerala Cannabis during a search conducted in Tharakankoddai, Mannar on Saturday (02 September). The arrested person along with the cannabis and the motorcycle, which had been used for the transfer of the contraband, were handed to Mannar Police for legal action.
