Three persons including a doctor have been hospitalized following an accident involving a Health Ministry jeep and a train at an unprotected level crossing this morning.
Among the injured included Habarana divisional health officer M.A. Akmeemana and two other health sector employees.
The incident occurred when the jeep collided with a train which had been travelling from Batticaloa to Colombo at around 10:30 am, police said.
The injured persons are receiving treatment at the Habarana hospital.
