Three individuals who were arrested off Beruwela for smuggling and possessing heroin worth Rs 277 million have been further remanded until January 11.
The order was issued by Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne when the supects were produced before courts today.
The remand order was issued after OIC Leslie Hiriyadeniya of the Police Narcotics Bureau informed court that the suspects had to be questioned even further.
OIC Hiriyadeniya had also submitted a progress report on the investigations before court.
The three suspects in the case are Dilip Susantha, M. Rikzi Mohamed and the owner of the trawler in which the heroin was discovered.
