The chief suspect in the murder of ‘Minuwangoda Kalu Ajith’ who was shot dead recently was arrested today (Jun 12), police said.
Ajith Kumara alias 'Minuwangoda Kalu Ajith' was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen who had arrived in a motorcycle in Ja-Ela on June 05. He is suspected to have been an underworld criminal.
The Terrorist Investigation Division, had arrested the chief suspect in Negombo, as a part of its ongoing investigations today, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The suspect has been identified as criminal gang member known as ‘Heenatiyana Sanka’, the Spokesman noted.
