TMVP Secretary arrested over murder
Secretary of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP) and former Eastern Provincial Councilor P. Prashanthan was arrested today by the Kaththankudi police over a double murder in 2008. Following a complaint lodged at the police station, police arrested him and steps have been taken to arrest several others who were involved in the two murders in 2008. According to the police the suspect will be produced before the Batticaloa Magistrate today.
