The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) is set to convene a special meeting today (Oct 23) to decide on its stance concerning the presidential election.
Recently, five political parties in the Northern Province submitted a document outlining 13 issues in their region, to all presidential candidates, to be considered if voted into power.
However, parliamentarian Charles Nirmalanthan who belongs to the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) which was one of the five parties, claimed that any of the candidates had not responded positively in that regard.
He added that the TNA in which the ITAK is a constituent party has not been able to meet any of the presidential candidates as well.
Nirmalanthan, said that the TNA is likely to arrive at a conclusion on whom to support at the presidential election, when it convenes under its leader R Sampanthan today.
