The recently introduced 'traffic lane law' will be in effect from today (Jun 10) onwards, the Police Headquarters said.
These rules are being implemented after a two-week grace period was provided to drivers to adapt themselves to the law.
The implementation of this law is expected to curb traffic, reduce accidents, and encourage disciplined driving, police noted.
Drivers who break these rules will be severely punished, the police department forewarned.
