Passengers getting into trains starting from Colombo Fort will be required to get down at the last station bordering the Western province (Aluthgama, Ambepussa, Kochchikade and Avissawella), General Manager of Railways M.J.D. Fernando said.
“Following the decision to restrict movement of those in Western province, the Railways Department has decided to limit passenger travel from Colombo only to the borders of Western province. However, the empty trains will continue their journey and take passengers from the next stop,” he said.
Trains will operate to Beliatte, Kandy, Mahawa, Puttalam and Avissawella.
