Transport Ministry organises mobile service in Nittambuwa

The Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry has organised a mobile service at the Sri Sangabodhi College in Nittambuwa on July 28 to assist the public in obtaining the services of the authorities under its purview.

Issuing a press release, the Ministry noted that issuance of train season tickets, medical reports for license applicants, free distribution of spectacles, and a job fair would be among the main services at the event.

The other services are as follows :

Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB)

  • Issuing season tickets
  • Accepting complaints about SLTB
  • Exhibition on latest buses

Railways Department

  • Issuing season tickets
  • Obtaining information on railway timetables
  • Accepting complaints on land issues concerning the Railways Department
  • Facility to pay taxes for Railway Lands
  • Awareness programme on preventing rail accidents

National Transport Medical Institute

  • Issuing medical reports for those applying for driving licences

Motor Traffic Department 

  • Obtain advice on applying for a driving license
  • Inquire about vehicle registration related problems
  • Awareness programme on road symbols

National Council for Road Safety

  • Regulatory programme for three-wheelers
  • Educating students on road safety
  • Issuing compensation for hit-and-run accident victims.

Civil Aviation Authority / Airport & Aviation Services 

  • Job opportunities in the airport service

National Transport Commission

  • Inspection of inter-provincial buses
  • Registration of inter-provincial bus drivers and conducters

Lakdiva Engineering Company

  • Double-decker bus ride
  • Ancient bus exhibition
