Two suspects who allegedly attempted to extort ransom from a businessman by making death threats against his wife and children have been arrested from Warakapola town.
The suspects, who demanded Rs 1 million from the businessman, were taken into custody last afternoon (29), police said.
The arrested suspects, aged 27 and 40 years, are residents of Meerigama and Kegalle. They are due to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate's Court.
