Two suspects were arrested with Kerala cannabis worth Rs 13.3 million along the coast of Point Pedro today (Mar 17).
The arrest was made during a joint operation carried out by the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) and the Sri Lanka Navy at around 3:30 am in the area.
Two suspects aged 47 and 60 were arrested in connection with the contraband reported to have weighed 88 kilos.
Police suspect that the narcotic was smuggled through the seas a few days before the arrest.
The suspects have been placed under the custody of the PNB.
