Two close associates of suicide bomber 'Rilwan' who was killed in the explosions at Sainthamaruthu were arrested in Batticaloa today.
The suspects were arrested in the Kattankudy, Batticaloa at a leading supermarket by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). They have been identified as residents of Vauvnathivu.
It is believed that the two individuals had assisted Rilwan - the brother of suspected suicide bomber Zahran Cassim in maunfacturing explosives.
CID officials believe that the arrested persons had maintained links with the terrorist group involved in the recent terror attacks for a very long time.
