The Inland Revenue Department is to conduct two audits concerning Eastern Governor M L A M Hizbullah, a senior Inland Revenue official told Times Online.
The audits are set to take place upon instructions issued by the government, the official noted.
Accordingly, records of funding for the proposed Batticaloa Campus which is under construction will be audited to determine whether there were any financial irregularities involved.
The Batticaloa Campus has been the brainchild of Mr. Hizbullah who served as the founding Chairman before handing over the responsibility to his son, after being appointed as Governor.
Another audit will also take place into the assets of Eastern Governor Hizbullah, the Inland Revenue Department official added.
